Youth Group

The youth created a vision that defined who they are and what they are all about. A couple of weeks was spent brainstorming ideas and names that they felt would describe themselves. They are excited to present the new and improved youth group: EMERGE, a group of young people who emerge and rise up for Christ. Young believers who take the Gospel to their community with simple acts of love and charity.
Emerge Youth Group meets each Sunday evening at 5:00 p.m. These 7th through 12th graders enjoy a meal together provided by one of the parishioners, then we engage in various activities.
The youth recently held a lock-in where many games of "Hide and Seekquot; were played in the Cathedral, they explored the basement, took in the view from the Bell Tower at night, watched movies and overall had a lot of fun. A special thanks goes to Fr. Randy for helping chaperone the Lock- In, to Kathleen Malone Crouch for coming to cook the breakfast and to all of the parents for donating food.(Especially Deb for the wonderful cinnamon rolls!)
The youth also enjoyed meeting with the Presiding Bishop, asking her any questions they wanted to, and talking about the things that they have done to help out around the church and diocese.
The youth have a lot planned for this spring and summer including hosting the 30 Hour Famine for the diocese, going to camp, and attending EYE (Episcopal Youth Event). We have plans to finish re-painting the lines in the parking lots, work in our flowerbeds, and see what else we can do around the church and community to help out. We are always thankful to the families who prepare a meal for us on Sunday Evenings.
We are always looking for more people to prepare meals for us on Sundays!!! If you are able to help, there is a sign-up sheet in the narthex or you may contact Katie to select a date.
Also, continuing thanks goes out to our rotating group of volunteer helpers -Deb Weishaar, Molly Hemstock, and Jennifer Barnes.
