Christ Cathedral Outreach

Haiti Relief Effort: The Cathedral is collecting money for the Haiti Relief Fund through the national church. Donations can be sent to the Cathedral Office.

Feed the Hungry: Homelessness has increasingly become a problem for Salina. In order to help our homeless population, parishioners of Christ Cathedral prepare sack lunches 365 days of the year for these brothers and sisters. If you would like to help with this outreach, either financially or by helping prepare the lunches, contact Jo Reed at 823-6130.

Shop for Ashby House: In order to help the staff at Ashby House, once a week a parishioner of the Cathedral will do their grocery shopping. If you would like to volunteer, contact Bryan Anderson at 826-4935.

Monthly Outreach: As part of its service to the Community, parishioners of Christ Cathedral participate in a different outreach each month. Previous opportunities have included providing food for the Food Bank, having a clean-up day in Indian Rock Park, providing needed supplies for the Salina Animal Shelter, putting together Comfort Kits for the Red Cross, and providing Christmas presents for foster children.

December's outreach project will be the Salina Emergency Aid/Food Bank. We'll collect food and other items that are in constant demand by folks who rely on the Food Bank for help. Thousands of people in Salina are living on short rations, even with help from resources that feed the hungry. With the economy sagging and many people wanting for work, that problem is bigger than ever. The Food Bank says that these items are either in short supply or completely out of stock: Carolyn, Jo, and Linda prepare lunches for the Feed the Hungry program.
