The Archives

The Archives contain records and documents of Christ Cathedral pertaining to all facets of the history, functions, and life of the church. Here are a few examples of items stored in the Archives. Minutes of the meetings of the Vestry (the governing body of the church) are on file beginning with the year 1903, when Bishop Sheldon Griswold arrived to become the first Bishop of the District, up to the present time. A record of Baptisms, Confirmations, Marriages, and Burials are also on file.

"Everything occurring in the church up until yesterday is considered material for the Archives today." This term best describes the purpose of the Archives.
